Sights of lazing beauty

The view from the Hotel, as promised is a panorama of Paris. I sneak out of bed to take photos. There is a haze, which heralds another very warm day, but its early, very early and all is quiet and still in the streets .

The series of images that I capture here is the light touching the golden tips of the buildings along this skyline.

The Westin hotel is placed in the centre of Paris. From here I can capture the grand buildings of the Louvre, which house one of my favorite Museums, the Musee des arts decoratifs, it’s a must and the perfect contrast to the Museum of Advertising next door.

The light glances across the Jeu de Pomme and other buildings and Museums in the gardens, it lights the dome of a grand building and the finials of another glass and bronze roof, and almost wakes the still sleeping, “Veille Dame” as they call her here, the Tour Eiffel.

My camera and I are ecstatic at the sight of the dawn warming the gold on the top of the Obelisk in the Place de La Concorde and its gold statues at the base of the Champs Elysee.

I even spot a glimpse of the Arc de Triomphe, though a close up is a little soft, the inclusion of this image makes this a truly unique place to stay in Paris.

Everything is at our feet as the day starts and we venture out to see the wonderful gallery of the Foundation Cartier on the left bank, and find somewhere for lunch!
